Phish- Jamming Sessions

My journey through thr music started with a rather ironical event..... it was marijuana that made my ears open up to phish... loved the riff, the lyrics(totally kool and perfect...not some rockstar singin about how he got stoned having marijuana, and is now writing a song about how his father abused him while his mom had sex with the neighbours and after all these years its his girl friend who has now dumped him) and the whole song to sum up.....and then i turned up to some of thr other songs like Bathtub Gin, Down with Disease, free.......it was later that i was to find out that marijuana isn't actually a phish song but a song by Brian Robbins(man, everyone's been takin away the credit from this guy, poor Brian .....chk out this link guys if thr are some who still believe its a phish song http://www.brianrobbins.com/music-17.html) the whole thing started up when someone posted marijuana on kaaza with phish as the artist name.... infact if you search for song lyrics most of the sites have named it as a phish song and so does google search..... still whatever the reason might have been i got to listen to this amazing band and now i am totally lovin it...
here's a list of songs I'll really recommend to anyone who still hasn't heard much of phish''''

Bathtub Gin
Bouncing Around the Room
Down With Disease
If I could, I would
Sample in a Jar
Roses are free

And yeah make sure you listen to Marijuana as well and remember its a Brian Robbins song....

Down in a hole- AIC unplugged

In my last last post I wrote that its been 5 days now since I've been playing kiss unplugged and i still dont see a reason to change it- now i have one...... Alice in Chain's Down in a hole and the whole
AIC unplugged.always a grunge fan and a great admirer of the Seattle's big four (nirvana, pJ, Soundgarden and AIC) my previous AIC fav was Dirt. it really rips ones heart apart lookin at Lance Staley who at times forgets some lyrics( stops in the middle of sludge factory and then restarts the whole song again) with his mind also not entirely with the show as he did not sing all of the songs he normally would, Cantrell filling in many of the verses and also looked very weak. the whole album includes three hit singles Heaven Beside you, Down in a hole and Would?( a song written on Andrew Wood of Mother Love Bone by Cantrell who also died of a heroin overdose).
my fav in the list is down in a hole( although was a huge fan of its original version, its the unplugged version that i place thr on the top). The song which is rumored to be about Staley's Heroin addiction is actually a love song

"It's to my long-time love. It's the reality of my life, the path I've chosen and in a weird way it kind of foretold where we are right now. It's hard for us both to understand.. that this life is not conducive to much success with long term relationships."
--- Cantrell, who wrote this.

The Dark and morbid lyrics though in a way can also be related to drug abuse keeping in mind the fact that staley was indeed addicted to Heroin and it was a heroin and cocaine overdose that took his life on APril 5, 2002( the same day eight years ago on which kurt cobain died)....RIP staley.

kiss unplugged

i've been playin this album for the past 5 days now and i still dont see a reason why i must have a change...... though there's nothing too deep about the lyrics( what music freaks say they look for in an album) still the songs are very groovy and all have a catchy riff. unplugged's always been my fav... and i think all the songs on this record are better than the originals....
songs like rock n roll all night, beth, and nothin to lose (the ones known to all i mean) have been brilliantly played and have the same affect as they usually have( too kewl to describe).
record includes some really weird songs like Plaster caster( about a group who used to collect plaster copies of rockstar penises) and the highlight of this MTV gig the cover of the Stones' "2,000 Man," (a prediction it seems to me about the future) though both of these are of the list of best songs from the record for me.Though the four original members play together on only two tunes ("2,000 Man" and the first real acoustic guitar version of their hit "Beth"), the two tracks ("Rock and Roll All Nite" and "Nothin' to Lose") on which they're joined by current members--drummer Eric Singer and guitarist Bruce Kulick--are also magical.
